A new age of interactive memes

Famous Meme Maps is a new tool for a new age, brought to you just a few weeks ago. It's forming and shaping into something to allow you to meme map your way through the existential dread. With this new tool there comes some complexities, to manage and store data, I've tried to make it as simple to sign up so I don't have to capture any information from you, the user. I don't want any sensitive data about you, the type of data I want is strictly what you enter and how you interact with the site. I use this information as a benchmark to see how users are using the site and to determine the health of Famous Meme Maps. So with that being said there are tracking products on this site by Google and Microsoft to help me understand the heartbeat of this site. I just wanted there to be a statement that while Famous Meme Maps doesn't capture any emails or passwords or other sensitive data, page clicks are being monitored to help give the best experience.

If you don't want to be tracked on Famous Meme Maps or any site, I recommend the following add-ons or extensions for your web browser:

  1. Privacy Badger
  2. uBlock Origin
  3. Ghostery

These are the extensions I use myself, I've linked to the appropriate area where you can find the extension for your browser to install. It's great for visiting sketchy sites and helping to anonymize data, but it doesn't protect you from everything so it's always best to practice good OPSEC and be aware of what's going on around you when interacting with any website.

Reddit authentication, but why?

I don't want to capture any sensitive data so Reddit can handle that, I just validate that there's a unique way for you to get your info into Famous Meme Maps so you can manage your maps. If you don't want your Reddit account linked to this site you can always create a throwaway account to sign into Famous Meme Maps. Famous Meme Maps doesn't care about your karma score or anything, it's just looking that you have a Reddit account so we have a unique username to assign to your maps. As of writing this you don't even need to confirm your email with a Reddit account so you can enter whatever you want and it will not be linked to you.
